The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended two individuals for criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and theft following a reported burglary in the state.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Umar (22) of Herwa Gana Quarter, Gombe LGA, and Usman Abdullahi (27) of Kumbiya Kumbiya Quarters, Gombe LGA, allegedly broke into the residence of one Abdulbasid Haruna on February 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am. The suspects stole various valuables, including laptops, mobile phones, and accessories, amounting to a total value of ₦3,200,570.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. He further disclosed that efforts are underway to track and apprehend the receiver of the stolen goods, identified as Ibrahim Danmariya.

Apple MacBook laptop – valued at ₦2,100,000
Dell laptop – valued at ₦250,000
Vivo V40 mobile phone – valued at ₦740,000
Oraimo smartwatch – valued at ₦48,000
Oraimo AirPods – valued at ₦48,000
500GB SSD external storage device – valued at ₦60,000
Airtime worth – ₦4,570
Upon receiving a formal complaint from the victim, Abdulbasid Haruna, on February 4, 2025, at about 4:00 pm, police operatives from the Commissioner of Police’s Monitoring Unit launched an investigation. Leveraging advanced tracking technology, they successfully traced some of the stolen items, leading to the arrest of the suspects on February 7, 2025.

Recovered Items and Confession:
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing the crime.
The stolen items were sold for a total sum of ₦80,000.
The police successfully recovered all stolen goods.
Efforts are ongoing to arrest the receiver of the stolen items.

The Gombe State Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station to enhance security and curb criminal activities in the state.

The arrested suspects will be charged in court upon completion of investigations.
