loud was something else entirely. She had known this day would come, but the suddenness of it still caught her off guard.

"Henry, you don’t have to go," she said, her voice trembling. "We can make this work. You don’t have to leave."

He shook his head, his eyes full of regret. "I have to go, Eleanor. I’ve been running away from my own life for too long. This is something I need to do for myself."

Tears welled up in Eleanor’s eyes, but she quickly wiped them away, trying to hide the hurt. "I understand," she whispered, though it felt like her heart was breaking.

Chapter Four: Strange Days, Strange Love

Henry left Edinburgh two days later, and Eleanor was left to pick up the pieces. The city felt emptier without him, quieter, as if the magic between them had faded into the distance.

But life went on. Eleanor found herself slowly healing, her world growing a little brighter as the days passed. She returned to her routine, finding solace in the small things—her
